The World is Our Campus; I remember a saying, something like; Wisdom is something we acquire without noticing… I think we acquire Wisdom through varied experiences, playing and experimenting with perspectives, comprehending Principles and consciously present to ones presence of Self Sovereignty.
For some time, I’ve been imagining a living network of village campuses all across the World, with folks generating cool, enriching curriculums loaded with the best of local cultures and based on a sort of Curriculum 101 or Basic Life Bootcamp that grounds people, of all ages, with a balanced variety of skills.
For me, this goes back to the idea of the Fourth Way, an ancient system of learning that develops all the centers of a Human Being in ways harmonious to the different centers, that is, appropriately stimulating the Intellectual center, the Emotional center and the Moving or physical center. So I’ve been imagining these Village Campuses being established on beautiful properties, across the world, with lots of acreage having forests, streams, lakes, shorelines, deserts, that is, plenty of Mother Nature or, Mother Teacher, as the old Curriculum 101 will plant people deeply into Living in Nature, to become connected, skilfull, confident and resourceful.
Ideas for Curriculum 101; body care, eating real food, real excercise, yoga, right breathing, learn to swim, learn to fight, wilderness survival training, learn hypnosis/self hypnosis, dancing… learn about healthy soil, gardening, permaculture, harvesting crops, preparing meals. Spend time with animals, caring for pets, caring for farm animals. Learn new languages. Learn to play musical instruments. Learn carpentry/woodworking, mechanics/bike tuning and repair, masonry/rockwork, painting/art/walls, story telling/teaching stories, walkabouts to other village/campuses, parts of the World.
Learn to appreciate beauty in others, architecture, music, nature. People won’t necesarily become experts in all of these learnings but will enjoy a broad base of experience giving a rich spectrum of relatability and usefulness with others and people’s discovered passions will blossom and carry them forward. I’m thinking of beautifully designed Village campuses for orphans, lovingly run and maintained by a thriving, skilfull population. I’m thinking of themed Vet Villages, Wild West, Tropical Paradise… havens for Vets and family and friends to heal and thrive. I’m thinking of Indigenous Villages, Hawaiian, Native American, Zulu etc.,… learned, conscious Soveriegn Friends welcoming Soveriegn Friends to come and live and learn their ways.
